Increasing Violence in Rosario Leads to Multiple Crimes

During the past weekend in Rosario, several violent acts were recorded, culminating in four homicides and seven people injured by gunfire in a short span of time. Although the victims of the armed attacks mainly sustained injuries to their legs, none suffered serious harm.

The first homicide case occurred when Luis Joaquín del Valle, 28 years old, was shot at the intersection of Servando Bayo and Ituzaingó streets. He was attacked by hitmen while on the sidewalk and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. Later, on Carlos Uriarte street at 7900, a 23-year-old man was shot in the left hip.

In another incident, in the Tablado neighborhood, Matías S. was attacked by armed individuals who shot him in the abdomen and left leg. These events add to a series of violence that also claimed other lives, such as that of EnRuth Leila González, 20 years old, who was stabbed in the abdomen in a separate case.

Additionally, Gonzalo David Pereyra, 27 years old, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the face and skull trauma on Sabín street at 1400 bis. Prior to these tragic events, a 40-year-old man and an 18-year-old young man were shot in the legs while with a group of people on the street, where the attacker managed to kill one of them.

Despite a decline in the number of homicides in 2024, the beginning of 2025 in Rosario has been bloody. The violence unleashed over the weekend has left the citizenry in a state of shock and alert, amid the growing wave of crimes and assaults that have marked daily life in the region.
